Internships at BAD IDEA

We receive a number of requests for internships and try to accommodate as many as we can. Spaces are limited though.

If you would like to come and work with us for a minimum of four weeks, then please send an email to info@badidea.co.uk with a CV and writing samples attached. In the email we need you to introduce yourself, explain why you would be interested to work with us, and the dates of your availability.

Although we try to respond to everyone, the sheer volume of emails we receive makes it difficult for us to respond to every application. Be patient – if we think you are a suitable candidate, and we have a slot available, we will get in touch. 

Like most independent publications, we are unable to pay interns wages or expenses.

Interns must be prepared to work hard and get stuck into all aspects of magazine publishing – from marketing, distribution, editorial work, design, events, and website maintenance. Working at a magazine is fun and rewarding, especially if you have a passion for journalism, but it can also be challenging and decidedly unglamorous.

If you are looking to break into the magazine or newspaper publishing industry, however, you will find the experience of working within a small business invaluable.
