Fred Goodwin’s House Vandalised! Hurrah!

Fred Goodwin's House Vandalised! Hurrah!Wonderful news this morning as we discover that Fred Goodwin’s house and car have been attacked by vandals. The Summer Of Rage starts here!

Three windows of the house, and all the windows of his Merc, were smashed; Fred’s house is meant to be having security funded by RBS, but at £290 a month, I suppose you get what you pay for. A gang, using the email address bankbossesarecriminals@mail.com, claimed responsibility for the attack in a message to the Edinburgh Evening News

“We are angry that rich people, like him, are paying themselves a huge amount of money, and living in luxury, while ordinary people are made unemployed, destitute and homeless. This is a crime. Bank bosses should be jailed”, they said, adding: “This is just the beginning”. Ooh, who’s next? Don’t forget Cassano!

This comes paparazzi find Fred hotter than Britney, and has MPs queuing up to strip him of his knighthood. If he’d just let that pension go and hid out with all his accrued millions, everyone probably would have forgotten about him. Now he’s the official bogeyman of the recession. We’re off to find a bunch of talented schoolchildren to create a papier-mache effigy of him to take to the April 1st “Parade Against Financial Crimes” – see you there!

i think that rally is going to be full of proper crusties, but i’m going along all the same. let’s play “spot the investment banker’s son chucking a chair through maccy d’s”.

  2. Ross Burns Says:

Fred Goodwin’s house and car get attacked, and perhaps a lot of people are happy about that. But Fred goodwin has children, and and he might have pets too. I say it was lucky they were elsewhere at the time. What next? It all seems like a positive thing to attack when anger is there, but it is wrong. People who wouldn’t normally do such things as throwing stones through windows, could think ‘I could do that’ or someone might start looking for the chance of being able to hit a banker full in the face, letting fly with an ‘innocent’ fist.
How many children would like to see their parents getting attacked? The possible danger to the family circle as a whole too. It doesn’t have to happen. The sooner all this rage is thought through and pressure concentrated in letters to MPs or sensible public protests being held outside a bank or council building, appearing in local or, with luck, national media, then that will be for the better. Governments will not help yobs, whatever the reasons. Organise a protest and write something striking on the board and get yourself on television, where you can encapsulate the mood with force but with intelligence too. I know what I’d rather see in the news.
