Google Rap the Latest In Time Wasting For Evil Giant
Another artifact for the ‘creepy projects that Google’s inordinate cashflow allows its sun-starved employees to do’ archives. The Google Analytics team has released its own rap video, complete with the lines:
“Web Optimizer gets so intense / When you gather data to improve user experience.”
“Why stop with earth instead extend out far / So we can see Google AdWords on Mars!!”
Apart from looking like Sam Lutfi, the songster’s major crime is omitting the line:
“AdWords and search are our big cash cow / We drop more CO2 than the state of Laos”
Rumour has it though that this kind of merry making is shortly to suffer a sharp demise at el Goog, with a plunging share price prompting CEO Eric Schmidt to declare and end to “dark matter” projects in December last year.
All in all though, why would you bother writing Google raps when Search Engine Rap Battle have already done the genre with such panache and tech-savvy wit? Videos below….

Christ, first the Hadron Collider rappers, and now this. Get the geeks off the microphone!
Actually, the Hadron Collider effort is pretty cool. Especially the robot rapping at the beginning: “Oh, yeah. I’m about to drop some particle physics in the club…”

Wish we could claim credit, but this vid was made by a partner company after a seminar we had about google analytics. Google had nothing to do with it, though I think it’s pretty hilarious and clever.
