The Butcher’s Shop Live – TONIGHT!

After the success of the first one last month, we’re holding another one of our Butcher’s Shop events TONIGHT! Join us for an evening of literary debate, funny costumes, pound-shop props and as much free gin as you can possibly drink.

The Butcher’s Shop is an interactive literary event, in which Bad Idea’s editors take your prose and edit it in a live, theatre-in-the-round context, drawing in lessons learnt from great men and women of letters, as well as their own experience. It’s sponsored by Hendrick’s Gin, who are providing free cocktails all night, and is held in the Old Operating Theatre near London Bridge, a Victorian operating theatre full of disturbingly muddle-headed old medical equipment and a scary family of waxwork dummies.

Here’s what some people have been saying about it:

“It might hurt a bit, but ultimately it’s for our own good” – The Independent

“Think Gunther von Hagens for the Literary Elite” – KultureFlash

Drinks and chatter start at 7pm, with the event beginning at 7.30, and running until around 10. Tickets cost £12 and can be bought here, or on the door. Click here for a map of exactly where it is; the address is: Old Operating Theatre Museum and Herb Garret, 9a St. Thomas’s St., London SE1 9RY.

As we’re getting everything ready for tonight, the blog will be a bit dry today. Normal financial-crisis-baiting will resume tomorrow.
