Nerds: ‘We Will Still Prosper’
A couple of nerds at Flash-developers conference “Flashcamp” (oh boy, fun!) have come up with this rather pointless but momentarily amusing application, that creates a swanee-whistle-like sound mapped to the progress of stock prices.
Maybe they should have played this on the stock floors last Friday – it would have certainly made doom and gloom basically impossible (see video after the jump).
In other nerd news, Playstation boss Kaz Hirai has said yesterday that the games market won’t be affected by all this financial mess, as people will want to close the curtains, start playing the new Gears of War and not come out again until they can afford things in the outside world, like human interaction. “As long as we can generate excitement, then we will be less affected than other industries,” he said.

I like the new blog and all, but what’s with the nerd-bashing? That’s a pretty offensive tone you’re taking with the people who make your site, and all the others ones, possible.
Had hoped for a higher standard of journalism than I’m getting, frankly.
